This exquisite work of Old Man with a Dragonhead Stick is one of the important pieces by the Sculpture Porcelain Factory. It was created elaborately by an eminent master of sculpture. Judging from the delicately designed pattern on the dragonhead stick to the soft and dynamic streamline of the clothes, from the attentive and fixed facial expression to the lifelike bones and muscles on the hands, and from the precise control of colors and textures between the character and things around him, they are all marvelous creation excelling nature. In addition to the difficult molding techniques being used, this work also employs the difficult firing technique of using high temperature colored glaze and has been fired as a pure solid, which is quite unique and bold. Moreover, the exterior of the work is intact without even a crack. The craftsmanship of this work makes it to be an extreme rarity whether at that time or at present, and is one of the best collections.
